Bakumatsu was a time when young hearts burned with worry for the future of their country. Shinsaku Takasugi, a mercenary from Tosa, sneaks onto a government ship with his comrade Kogoro Katsura in search of the mysterious "chronometer" that can manipulate time, fearing that the government will seize it. To prevent such power from falling into the wrong hands, Shinsaku decides to destroy the artifact, but only ends up losing it, forcing the duo to chase after the thief to the government residence in Kyoto. When they arrive in the capital, they discover that the government has been overthrown, and now the land is ruled by the deity Susanoo. The streets and people of the city are vastly different from what Shinsaku and Kogoro remember. Times have changed, but not their mission - they decide to "reboot" time and save their people from the dreadful forces trying to take control. Now, they must navigate this new world, filled with unknown dangers and challenges, in order to fulfill their duty and protect their homeland at all costs. Will they be able to succeed in this mission and restore peace to their war-torn land? Only time will tell.
